Jiŝaj la origin';	de Jiŝaj ĝia spec'.	Of Jesse promised fruit;
ekĝermis ĉarma flor'	Floreton portis ĝi,	Its fairest bud unfolds to light
dum frosta vintro-tempo	en akra vintro estis,	Amid the cold, cold winter,
je noktomeza hor'.	Je horo de noktmez'.	And in the dark midnight.
