A flower is standing		Es steht eine Blume,
By the side of the way.		Wo der Wind weht den Staub,
Light blue is her blossom,		Blau ist ihre Blüte,
Her leaves they are grey.		Aber grau ist ihr Laub.

I came down that road once,		Ich stand an dem Wege,
Reached my hand out to stay.		Hielt auf meine Hand,
I looked in your eyes then,		Du hast deine Augen
But you turned them away.		Von mir abgewandt.

You stand by the road now		Jetzt stehst du am Wege,
Where the desert winds gust.		Da wehet der Wind,
Your beautiful blue eyes		Deine Augen, die blauen,
Are blinded by dust.		Vom Staub sind sie blind.

You're waiting that I will		Da stehst du und wartest,
Come along as before.		Daß ich komme daher,
Wayside Flower, Wayside Flower,		Wegewarte, Wegewarte,
You don't bloom anymore.		Du blühst ja nicht mehr.
