tradukita de Rolf Mayr | tradukita de Manfredo Ratislavo | tradukita de Donald P. Webb
Die Grille trällerte und sang | La cigale, ayant chanté | Sonis dum somer' kantad' | The cricket had sung her song
den ganzen lieben Sommer lang | Tout l'été, | De cikad'. | all summer long
und fand sich plötzlich sehr beklommen, | Se trouva fort dépourvue | Kiam venis la jarfin' | but found her victuals too few
als der Nordwind war gekommen: | Quand la bise fut venue. | Sen proviz' ĝi trovis sin; | when the north wind blew.
im Haus war nicht ein Bröselein, | Pas un seul petit morceau | Ĉar ne estis ie de | Nowhere could she espy
Regenwurm und Fliegenbein. | De mouche ou de vermisseau | Muŝ' aŭ verm' pecet', pro ve' | a single morsel of worm or fly.
Hunger schreiend lief sie hin | Elle alla crier famine | Kaj malsat' ĝi turnis sin | Her neighbor, the ant, might,
zur Ameis', ihrer Nachbarin, | Chez la fourmi sa voisine, | Al Formik', la najbarin', | she thought, help her in her plight,
mit der Bitte, ihr zu geben | La priant de lui prêter | Ŝin petante pri paner'; | and she begged her for a little grain
etwas Korn zum Weiterleben | Quelque grain pour subsister | Ĉar grandegis la mizer'. | till summer would come back again.
nur bis nächstes Jahr: | Jusqu'à la saison nouvelle | "Ĝis la nova kant-sezon' | “By next August I’ll repay both
"Ich werd' Euch zahlen", sprach sie gar, | «Je vous paierai, lui dit-elle, | Iĝos ja de mi redon'," | Interest and principal; animal’s oath.”
"noch vor Verfall, mein Grillenwort, | Avant l'oût, foi d'animal, | Ĵuris ĝi, "kaj pagos mi | Now, the ant may have a fault or two
Hauptstock, Zinsen und so fort." | Intérêt et principal .» | Interezon ĝis Juni'!" | But lending is not something she will do.
Die Ameis' aber leiht nicht gern: | La fourmi n'est pas prêteuse ; | La formiko, kiu vere | She asked what the cricket did in summer.
sie krankt ein wenig an Knausrigkeit: | C'est là son moindre défaut | Ne pruntdonon ŝatis tre, | “By night and day, to any comer
"Was triebt ihr denn zur Sommerzeit?" | «Que faisiez-vous au temps chaud? | Diris: "Mi ĝin donos ne! | I sang whenever I had the chance.”
fragt sie die Borgerin von fern. | Dit-elle à cette emprunteuse. | Kion faris vi somere?" - | “You sang, did you? That’s nice. Now dance.”
"Da war ich Tag und Nacht besetzt, | Nuit et jour à tout venant | "La pasantojn per muzik'
ich sang und hatte viel Applaus." | Je chantais, ne vous déplaise. | Mi ĝojigis ĝis aŭtun'."
"Gesungen habt Ihr? Ei der Daus, | - Vous chantiez? j'en suis fort aise. | "Mi tre ĝojas, dancu nun!"
wohlan, so tanzet jetzt!" | Eh bien : dansez maintenant.» | Diris tiam la formik'.
