1. Forpasis tiu tag', Sinjoro, | Argiope-informo: | 1. Finiĝas nun alia tago, | 1. The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended,
Kaj profundiĝas la senlum'. | La aspekto de tiu ĉi versio estas barita. | jam venis la vespera hor'. | The darkness falls at Thy behest;
Vi gardis nin de ajn doloro. | Supozeble la aŭtoro decidis tion. | Kunvenis ni por adorago | To Thee our morning hymns ascended,
Nin gardu ankaŭ dum noktum'! | plaĉanta al la Di-Sinjor' | Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.
2. Ni rotacias en la tagon. | Traduko de la Angla poemo "The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended" de John Ellerton (*1826-12-16 - †1893-06-15) en la Germanan de Raymund Weber. | 2. Ni dankas Vin, Savanto nia, | 2. We thank Thee that Thy church, unsleeping,
En nokta paco dormas ni. | ke sur la tuta mond-teren' | While earth rolls onward into light,
Kaj portas lumon trans la maro | la sankta eklezio Via | Through all the world her watch is keeping,
La suno, kie brilas ĝi. | staradas firme ĉe posten'. | And rests not now by day or night.
3. Senĉese kiel la mateno | 3. Ruliĝas tero, brilas lumo | 3. As o’er each continent and island
Briladas super tera rond', | de ne-ĉesanta maten-glor'. | The dawn leads on another day,
Eksonas laŭdo pro la beno | Leviĝas laŭdo, preĝ-parfumo | The voice of prayer is never silent,
Al ĉiu sur la vasta mond'. | konstante, kiel dolĉ-odor'. | Nor dies the strain of praise away.
4. La suno, kiu ĵus subiris, | 4. Ekdormas ni post sun-subiro; | 4. The sun that bids us rest is waking
Ja brilas en plu fora land'! | gefratoj en la okcident' | Our brethren ’neath the western sky,
La gloron, kiun ni admiris, | vekiĝas kun novtag-aspiro | And hour by hour fresh lips are making
Anoncas plu preĝada kant'. | Vin glori per viv-elokvent'. | Thy wondrous doings heard on high.
5. Pereas regnoj. Tiel estu! | 5. Formortos mondaj imperioj, | 5. So be it, Lord; Thy throne shall never,
Kaj sole staras via tron', | sed Via regno kreskos plu. | Like earth’s proud empires, pass away:
Ke sole via regno restu | Al Vi sin cedos dinastioj, | Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever,
Je fina tag' sub unu kron'. | Venkinto estos vi, Jesu'! | Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway.
