Of ancient seers' foreshowing,	laŭ olda kant-heredo,	wie uns die Alten sungen,
Of Jesse promised fruit;	Jiŝaj la origin';	von Jesse kam die Art
Its fairest bud unfolds to light	ekĝermis ĉarma flor'	und hat ein Blümlein bracht
Amid the cold, cold winter,	dum frosta vintro-tempo	mitten im kalten Winter,
And in the dark midnight.	je noktomeza hor'.	wohl zu der halben Nacht.
