Wie viele Mütter sind lang schon allein		Ĉu devos okazi la lasta milit'
und warten und warten noch heut?		Kun neimagebla mizer'?
Die Antwort, mein Freund, sie will gefunden sein,		Respondon, amik', ja scias nur la vent',
Die Antwort muss unser Leben sein.		Repondon ja scias nur la vent'.

Wie viele Menschen sind heut noch nicht frei		Kiom da stratoj sur tiu ĉi ter'
