’T is the last rose of summer		Jen floras sola, forlasita
Left blooming alone;		La lasta rozo de l' somero,
All her lovely companions		Dum ĝia ĉarma gefrataro,
Are faded and gone;		Velkinte kuŝas jam sur tero.
No flower of her kindred,		Ne estas ia flor' parenca,
No rosebud is nigh,		Nek roz-burĝono en proksimo,
To reflect back her blushes,		Por interŝanĝi la ridetojn
To give sigh for sigh.		Aŭ la sopirojn, laŭ kutimo.

I'll not leave thee, thou lone one!		Mi vin ne lasos, ho soleca,
To pine on the stem;		Ĉagrene sur trunketo brili;
Since the lovely are sleeping,		Ĉar la karuloj viaj dormas,
Go sleep thou with them.		Do iru, dormu vi kun ili!
Thus kindly I scatter		Foliojn viajn mi afable
Thy leaves o'er the bed,		Disĵetas sur bedeto jena:
Where thy mates of the garden		Vi kuŝu apud senaroma,
Lie scentless and dead.		Malviva kunular' ĝardena!

So soon may I follow		Mi tiel sekvu, kiam pasos
When friendships decay,		De l' amikeco flor' fidela,
