OLD age is courteous--no one more:	La aĝo estas ĝentila vir',	Das Alter ist ein höflicher Mann:
For time after time he knocks at the door,	Multfoje li petas pri enir'.	Einmal übers andre klopft er an,
But nobody says, "Walk in, sir, pray!"	Neniu diras: Eniru vi!	aber nun sagt niemand: Herein!
Yet turns he not from the door away,	Ekstere ne volas resti li.	Und vor der Türe will er nicht sein.
But lifts the latch, and enters with speed.	Subite li enigas sin,	Da klinkt er auf, tritt ein so schnell,
And then they cry "A cool one, indeed!"	Krudulon oni nomas lin.	und nun heißt's, er sei ein grober Gesell.
