Jen la lasta rozeto		’T is the last rose of summer
de fora somer'!		Left blooming alone;
Ĝiaj belaj kunuloj		All her lovely companions
jam velkis sur ter'!		Are faded and gone;
Ne restas parenco,		No flower of her kindred,
ne unu rozflor'		No rosebud is nigh,
Partoprenas kompate		To reflect back her blushes,
en ĝia dolor'.		To give sigh for sigh.

Mi ne lasos vin velki		I'll not leave thee, thou lone one!
tutsola, ho roz'.		To pine on the stem;
Iru dormi kun ili		Since the lovely are sleeping,
en paca ripoz'.		Go sleep thou with them.
Nun viajn petalojn		Thus kindly I scatter
disĵetas mi for		Thy leaves o'er the bed,
Al viaj kunuloj		Where thy mates of the garden
sen viv', sen odor'.		Lie scentless and dead.

Tiel same volonte		So soon may I follow
formortus mi mem,		When friendships decay,
Se ne plu min atendus		And from Love's shining circle
amika manprem'.		The gems drop away.
Ĉar kiu kun koro		When true hearts lie wither'd
en tiu ĉi mond'		And fond ones are flown,
Volus loĝi izola		Oh! who would inhabit
sen amo-respond'?		his bleak world alone?
