Jen dom' en Nova Orlean'.		There is a house in New Orleans,
Konata estas ĝi.		They call the Rising Sun.
Perdiĝis multaj inoj jen,		It's been the ruin of many poor girl,
Ho Dio, ankaŭ mi.		And me, o Lord, I'm one.

Ankoraŭ estus hejme mi		If I had listened to what my mother said,
Kaj estus ĉe l' patrin',		I'd been at home today.
Sed estis mi tro stulta ja,		But I was young and foolish, o God,
Forlogi lasis min.		Let a rambler lead me astray.

Ho, mia kara fratinet'		Go tell my baby sister:
Ne agu kiel mi!		Never do like I have done!
De l' dom' de l' Leviĝanta sun*,		But shun that house in New Orleans
Detenu vin de ĝi!		They call the Rising Sun!

Al Nova Orleano mi		I'm going back to New Orleans,
